ROLE MISSION

  • The Fashion Designer will support our design and product-development process for the US market. The successful candidate will help transform creative concepts and market trends into commercially attractive, well-constructed and production-ready apparel.

  • You will work closely with our New York design team, local product-development colleagues, factories and suppliers to ensure that each product meets the required design, fit, quality, cost and delivery standards.

ROLE SUMMARY

  • Reporting to the Head of Design and Development, you will join a Design and Development team of approximately 10 members in our Hong Kong office.

  • You will be responsible for the design and development of apparel for the US market, from trend research and concept development to technical-pack preparation, sampling, fitting and final product approval.

  • This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented and adaptable designer who can manage the complete product-development workflow. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with our New York headquarters and regional development teams.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Research current fashion trends, colours, fabrics, silhouettes, details and consumer preferences in the US markets.

  • Support the development of seasonal collections and product ranges for men, women and children.

  • Develop design concepts, mood boards, colour stories, fabric directions and product ideas.

  • Prepare sketches, CAD drawings, technical illustrations and design presentations.

  • Select suitable fabrics, trims, materials, washes and construction details for each product.

  • Work closely with our US design team to interpret creative direction and adapt designs for product development.

  • Coordinate with our New York headquarters on design requirements, product briefs, deadlines and collection priorities.

  • Develop accurate technical packs, including technical sketches, measurements, construction details, materials, trims, labels and packaging requirements.

  • Ensure that technical packs are complete, accurate and clear for factories and suppliers.

  • Manage the product-development process from initial concept and technical-pack preparation to sampling, fitting and final approval.

  • Review samples and provide clear comments on fit, measurements, construction, materials, workmanship, colour and overall appearance.

  • Follow up on fit comments, sample revisions and production corrections with factories and suppliers.

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure consistency in design, fit, quality and brand standards.

  • Use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create and revise design and technical documents.

  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by the Head of Design and Development.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Textile and Clothing, Apparel Design or a related discipline.

  • 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in fashion design and apparel product development.

  • Experience developing apparel for the US market is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of fashion trends, fabrics, colours, garment construction and production techniques.

  • Good knowledge of costing, trend research, material selection, fabric sourcing and product development.

  • Experience managing the complete development process from technical-pack preparation to sampling, fitting and final approval.

  • Ability to prepare accurate technical packs and communicate design and construction requirements clearly.

  • Good understanding of garment fit, measurements, patterns, construction details and quality standards.

  • Excellent English communication skills for regular communication with our New York headquarters.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

  • Experience with 3D fashion-design software is a strong advantage.

  • Experience using artificial intelligence tools for design, research or product development is a strong advantage.
