INTERIOR DESIGN DIRECTOR, SOFT FURNISHING – Award‑Winning Interior Design Firm · Luxury Residential (Ngau Tau Kok)

ROLE MISSION

• To lead the soft furnishing design team and drive the creative direction of high-end residential projects from concept to completion, ensuring strong design quality, client satisfaction, and smooth project delivery.

ROLE SUMMARY

• You will oversee a dedicated soft furnishing team and guide the design development of luxury residential projects.

• You will be responsible for creating thoughtful, client-focused design solutions that align with the company’s vision, budget, and project timeline.

• This role requires both creative leadership and strong project coordination to ensure high standards in design, presentation, and execution.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Lead, supervise, and mentor the soft furnishing interior design team.

• Manage the design process for luxury residential projects from concept to detailed design, documentation, and site implementation.

• Develop creative and tailored design solutions based on client briefs for Mainland China and international markets.

• Ensure all design work aligns with company objectives, project budgets, and timelines.

• Lead brainstorming sessions and support idea development within the team.

• Prepare and present design proposals to clients in a clear, professional, and persuasive manner.

• Work closely with internal teams, including architecture, FF&E, and lighting, as well as external consultants.

• Monitor project progress, quality control, and coordination with contractors and vendors.

• Ensure project delivery meets deadlines and maintains the intended design quality.

• Carry out any ad hoc duties or special projects assigned by management.

IDEAL CANDIDATES

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related discipline.

• At least 8 years of relevant interior design experience, including 3 years in a management or leadership role.

• Strong experience in soft furnishing design, including curtains, upholstery, carpets, and other fabric-based interior elements.

• Strong presentation, leadership, and communication skills.

• Good aesthetic sense and a strong understanding of materials, textures, colours, and detailing, especially in luxury residential interiors.

• Creative, positive, and proactive mindset.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.

• Willing to travel when required for meetings, site visits, or supplier coordination.
