Duties
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University will celebrate its 90th Anniversary through a series of strategic initiatives designed to strengthen the University’s reputation, stakeholder engagement, brand positioning, partnerships and long-term development.
The appointee will provide operational and project management support for the planning and implementation of the University’s 90th Anniversary Celebration.
The appointee will be required to:
(a) coordinate the implementation of anniversary-related programmes, activities and projects in collaboration with faculties, departments and administrative units;
(b) liaise with service providers and other collaborators to facilitate the delivery of anniversary initiatives and engagement programmes;
(c) support the planning and execution including the operational arrangements of major anniversary events and activities, including ceremonies, conferences, exhibitions, forums, community engagement programmes, VIP visits and other signature events;
(d) assist in the implementation of anniversary-related branding, publicity and communications initiatives, including the production of promotional materials, publications, digital content, souvenirs and commemorative projects;
(e) monitor project schedules, maintain programme records and databases, and compile management information and progress reports; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Vice President (Administration and Development) or his delegates.
The appointee will be required to work outside normal office hours and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays when necessary.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related discipline;
(b) at least eight years of relevant post-qualification experience at supervisory level in project management, stakeholder engagement, communications, branding, event management, alumni relations or related areas, preferably gained in higher education institutions, public sector organisations or sizeable corporations;
(c) experience in planning and implementing large-scale events, engagement initiatives or multi-stakeholder projects;
(d) strong organisational, project management and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously;
(e) excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at different levels;
(f) a proactive and responsible work attitude, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; and
(g) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
