Manager – Infrastructure Operations, Information Technology, CEO's Office and Central Services (Ref.: SFC/M/IO/IT/CEOO/260925)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead the infrastructure operations team in delivering reliable, secure, and efficient day-to-day support for cloud, on-premises, data centre, network, server, storage, backup, virtualisation, and related infrastructure services.

• Oversee operational monitoring, event management, capacity management, availability management, and service health reporting to ensure infrastructure services meet agreed service levels.

• Manage major incidents and infrastructure service disruptions, coordinate technical recovery, communicate status to stakeholders, and ensure root cause analyses and improvement actions are completed on time.

• Establish and maintain operational procedures, support documentation, system inventories, configuration records, technical standards, and support handover requirements.

• Plan and govern infrastructure patching, vulnerability remediation, system upgrades, lifecycle management, and end-of-support replacement activities across Windows, Linux, network, storage, virtualisation, and cloud platforms.

• Manage infrastructure changes in accordance with change management requirements, including risk assessment, implementation planning, testing, rollback arrangements, approval, and post-implementation review.

• Maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities; coordinate regular recovery testing and annual disaster recovery exercises for critical services.

• Drive infrastructure automation and standardisation to improve operational efficiency, consistency, scalability, and control, using appropriate scripting, orchestration, configuration management, or Infrastructure as Code tools.

• Work closely with application, cybersecurity, service management, and project teams to provide production support, resolve technical issues, and ensure new or changed services are operationally ready.

• Manage infrastructure vendors and service providers, monitor contract and service performance, review deliverables, handle escalations, and ensure compliance with organisational standards.

• Prepare operational dashboards, risk updates, incident reports, service improvement plans, budget estimates, and management reports for senior stakeholders.

• Identify operational risks, single points of failure, capacity constraints, and control gaps, and implement practical remediation and resilience improvements.

• Ensure infrastructure operations comply with applicable internal policies, security requirements, regulatory expectations, audit requirements, and established IT service management procedures.

• Support infrastructure procurement, renewal, maintenance, licensing, asset lifecycle planning, and resource allocation to meet current and future organisational needs.

Requirements:

• University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification is highly regarded.

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT infrastructure, including at least 8 years in architecture and administration roles within both cloud and on-premises environments.

• In-depth expertise with both cloud (e.g. Azure or AliCloud) and traditional data centre technologies, including hybrid infrastructure solutions.

• Strong experience in Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Exchange Server, Linux administration, SAN architecture, TCP/IP networking, firewall technologies, and integration of these platforms to deliver robust infrastructure solutions.

• Experience supporting application development teams across multiple projects, ensuring infrastructure aligns with project requirements.

• Demonstrated vendor management experience in both development and support contexts.

• Results-focused approach with adaptability to changing priorities.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.

• Energetic, enthusiastic, and recognised as a proactive contributor to the team.
