Officer (Branding and Marketing) (Temporary Appointment) (Ref. 260918012)

[Appointment period: twelve months]

Duties

The Communications and Public Affairs Office is now seeking a high-calibre and passionate individual to join the events team under the Branding and Marketing division of the Office to provide administrative and operational support in the planning, coordination, and execution of institutional level events, and managing administrative work for the Office.  The appointee will be required to:

(a) provide administrative support to the team including preparing procurement documents and guest invitations, and maintaining master invitation lists, RSVP records and attendance lists;

(b) liaise and coordinate independently with multiple stakeholders and agencies on event execution and logistics, campus promotional materials, and other branding and marketing-related matters; 

(c) support the administrative operations, including handling purchasing matters and procurement procedures; 

(d) provide logistical and administrative support for internal and external meetings, forums, official visits and delegations; 

(e) manage and liaise with student helpers to provide administrative support for events; and 

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or her delegates. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a) have a recognised degree, preferably in Language Studies, Translation, Communications, Marketing or related disciplines; 

(b) have at least three years of solid experience in marketing or event management, preferably with relevant experience in sizable organisations; 

(c) be proficient in PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing, etc.; 

(d) have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including fluency in Putonghua and Cantonese; 

(e) have effective communication skills, and be well-organised and detail-oriented; 

(f) have the ability to be a good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; 

(g) have the ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-cultural environment; and 

(h) be proactive, able to work under pressure and willing to work on weekends, if necessary. 

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.
