The Office of University General Education offers two foundation courses in general education, which require students to read influential classics from the humanities and the natural sciences, and to reflect on major issues of human concern in small-group seminars ( https://www.oge.cuhk.edu.hk/tc/overview/curriculum-design/ge-foundation-programme).

We are inviting applications for the position of Part-time Lecturer(s) for the academic year 2026-27. The appointee(s) should be able to teach one of the University General Education Foundation courses, namely In Dialogue with Humanity or In Dialogue with Nature, and commit to daytime teaching on weekdays (Monday to Friday).

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree, in a discipline relevant to the course they will teach, including the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, or related disciplines; and (ii) a high level of competence in both Chinese and English, in both spoken and written language. Relevant undergraduate teaching experience is desirable.

Appointment(s) will initially be made on contract basis for four to five months commencing January 2027, renewable subject to mutual agreement and good performance. Review of candidates will be conducted on a rolling basis until the position(s) is/ are filled.
