TOYS PRODUCT DESIGNER - European toy brand owner, trading & sourcing office (TST East)

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Work closely with the Sales Team, R&D Team, customers and suppliers to develop new toy products for different global markets.

• Conduct market and design research to identify new product ideas, play features and emerging toy trends.

• Brainstorm, propose and develop design concepts for various toy categories, including vehicles, dolls, figures and other play patterns.

• Communicate design ideas through sketching, 2D/3D renderings, model making and 3D printed prototypes.

• Prepare detailed technical drawings (2D and 3D), colour specifications, functional diagrams, label layouts and other design‑related documentation.

• Manage design projects from concept to production, ensuring proper documentation, timelines and coordination with all stakeholders.

• Report to the Design Manager and collaborate within a design team of around 10 members.

• Travel to Mainland China for factory visits and production follow‑up when required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Product Design, Industrial Design, Transportation Design or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years’ design or product development experience in the toy industry; experience with toy vehicles, dolls and/or figures is an advantage.

• Strong design communication skills, including hand sketching and 2D visualisation.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and 3D software (e.g. KeyShot, Rhino, ZBrush).

• Good understanding of materials (plastics, textiles, etc.) and manufacturing processes, with solid experience in design‑to‑cost.

• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines.

• Comfortable presenting product concepts and sharing ideas with internal teams and external partners.

• Proficient in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
