Our Hong Kong office serves as a strategic hub for regional sourcing, product development, and supply chain management across the Asia-Pacific region.
ROLE MISSION
You will establish and lead our Hong Kong sourcing office as a strategic regional hub for Asia-Pacific operations.
Reporting directly to the CEO in the United States, this high-impact leadership role will be responsible for building a best-in-class vendor ecosystem that supports both our branded and private-label businesses.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the vendor sourcing and production lifecycle, drive excellence in product development and vendor management, and build a high-performing team to support the company’s long-term growth across Asia.
ROLE SUMMARY
Establish, develop, and lead the Hong Kong sourcing office.
Build and manage a high-performing sourcing team of approximately 5–6 members.
Develop a diversified and reliable vendor and factory network across Asia, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia and China.
Lead end-to-end product development and production, from initial concept through bulk delivery.
Establish sourcing strategies that support the distinct commercial and operational requirements of branded and private-label programmes.
Drive improvements in cost, quality, compliance, speed to market, and on-time delivery.
Serve as the key liaison between the Hong Kong, China, and US teams.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Establish, scale, and lead the Hong Kong sourcing office as a strategic hub for Asia-Pacific operations.
Build, develop, and manage a sourcing team of approximately 5–6 members.
Serve as the senior sourcing leader and primary point of accountability for all Hong Kong-based sourcing activities.
Establish clear operating procedures, performance standards, and reporting processes for the sourcing function.
Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage a diversified vendor and factory base across Asia, with a strong focus on Southeast Asia and China.
Develop and implement vendor assessment and tiering frameworks covering capability, capacity, compliance, quality, cost, and reliability.
Build and maintain a preferred supplier network and strategic vendor partnership structure.
Develop a structured vendor matrix to align supplier capabilities with product categories, brand positioning, and margin targets.
Maintain strong relationships with key vendors and drive continuous improvements in performance and service levels.
Lead end-to-end product development and production from concept through bulk delivery.
Manage seasonal product development calendars and ensure all key milestones, from prototype and approval through TOP and bulk shipment, are achieved on schedule.
Oversee production schedules, capacity planning, and risk mitigation to support speed-to-market and on-time delivery objectives.
Partner closely with Quality Assurance and Technical teams to resolve fit, construction, workmanship, and quality issues efficiently.
Lead vendor sourcing strategies for both branded and private-label programmes, recognising their distinct commercial and operational requirements.
Align vendor capabilities with brand positioning, product categories, target costs, quality expectations, and margin objectives.
Ensure all vendors and products meet company standards for quality, product safety, social compliance, and ethical sourcing.
Oversee factory audits, compliance reviews, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop executive-level reporting on vendor performance, including cost, quality, delivery, compliance, and capacity KPIs.
Act as the key liaison between the Hong Kong, China, and US teams to ensure clear communication, alignment, and execution.
Travel regularly to China and Southeast Asia for vendor development, factory visits, production follow-up, quality reviews, and market intelligence gathering.
Monitor regional manufacturing developments, sourcing opportunities, capacity trends, and industry risks.
Identify new markets, suppliers, and production capabilities that may strengthen the company’s sourcing platform.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Fashion, Merchandising, or a related discipline.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in apparel sourcing, vendor management, product development, or production management.
At least 3–5 years of experience in a senior leadership or functional management role.
Proven track record in establishing, leading, or scaling a vendor sourcing office or sourcing team in Hong Kong or the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing, product development, costing, vendor negotiation, quality management, and production operations.
Solid experience supporting both branded and private-label business models.
Established relationships with apparel factories and vendors across China and Southeast Asia will be highly preferred.
Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance cost, quality, delivery, compliance, and product requirements.
Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin; proficiency in Cantonese or another Chinese language will be an advantage.
Willing and able to travel regularly across China and Southeast Asia.
