FINANCE OFFICE

Accountant (Retirement Benefits Unit) (Ref. 19110409-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

(a) handling daily accounting operations for administration of the retirement schemes (both ORSO and MPF schemes) of the University and its subsidiaries, including handling monthly contributions, benefit payments, new member enrolments and staff enquires, as well as dealing with the service providers of the retirement schemes;

(b) preparing annual financial reports of the PolyU Superannuation Fund and providing support to the Staff Loan Scheme;

(c) preparing various committee meeting papers;

(d) assisting in the enhancement and maintenance of the financial system;

(e) handling general office administration; and

(f) performing any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines;

(b) a professional accounting qualification and preferably Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst examination or equivalent;

(c) at least five years of post-qualification experience in accounting, auditing or financial management fields, including two or more years in a supervisory role;

(d) proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Access, Excel, Word and Powerpoint, with working knowledge of Oracle Financials being an advantage;

(e) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and

(f) strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Applicants with less experience will be considered for the post of Associate Accountant.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
