Administrative Assistant I/II

Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant I/II (AAI/II) in the Faculty Student Global Experience Team in the Faculty of Arts (Ref.: 499096), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance.

Applicants should have a good Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in the Arts and Humanities, Communications, Social Sciences or other relevant disciplines, with at least 8 years of work experience, including 4 or more years of solid experience at supervisory level, in programme management and development.  Preference will be given to applicants with work experience in both higher education and corporate sectors.  Study/work/living abroad experience is highly desirable.  They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; outstanding organizational, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. They should be mature and self-motivated, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.  

The appointee will lead the Faculty Student Global Experience Team and be responsible for the offering of experiential learning opportunities such as internships, study abroad, fieldtrips, corporate and not-for-profit-sponsored programmes to Arts students.  He/She is expected to proactively engage in communication with local and overseas partner organizations; enhance and manage experiential learning resources for Arts students; work closely with our Schools and different University units; oversee the programme development in relation to the undergraduate curricula; manage the Faculty’s summer programmes; and perform any other duties as assigned.  Irregular working hours on weekdays and at weekends may occasionally be required.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.  Those with more relevant experience and proven record may be appointed as AAI.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for AAI, and 10% of basic salary for AAII.
