Administrative Assistant I in the Faculty of Social Sciences

Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant I in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 498722) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years' solid administrative work experience at supervisory level, preferably in the higher education sector or a related field. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; effective inter-personal, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently on multi-tasks under pressure to meet tight deadlines; and a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation. They should also have proven track record in project management, relevant hands-on managerial experience, demonstrated leadership and practical experience to perform professional and specialized work in the area of teaching and learning, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The appointee will lead a team of staff to support the day-to-day operation of student services and teaching and learning affairs of the Faculty. He/She is expected to provide a wide spectrum of administrative work related to teaching and learning, such as academic development, curriculum design, enhancement of experiential learning opportunities, particularly in the professional development of students, planning and execution of the internship programme, and other teaching and learning initiatives of the Faculty. He/She will also work/liaise closely with various stakeholders, supervise junior administrative and clerical staff, and perform other duties as assigned. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
