Major Duties :
(a) To work in different application projects (e.g. web-based and mobile), including analyzing requirements, resources planning, system design and programming;
(b) To assist in the daily administration and support of mission-critical systems; and
(c) To review on the effectiveness of controls in the areas of technology and information security.

Requirements :
(a) (i) A recognized degree in IT or equivalent with at least 2 years’ relevant experience; OR
(ii) A recognized higher diploma in IT or equivalent with at least 5 years' relevant experience;
(b) Experience in web technology, Java, PHP or .NET development;
(c) Preferably with experience in the area of information security and practical knowledge in using open source framework, UI/UX design;
(d) Proficiency in English and Chinese; and
(e) Good interpersonal skills, self-initiative and be a good team player.

Notes :
(1) The post is in the rank of “Officer”.
(2) Appointees may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis.
(3) Appointees may be posted to any operational units of the VTC, for example a campus / centre, to carry out similar duties, and have different post titles which are subject to change at the Council’s discretion.
(4) Applicants who have responded to the advertisement (ref. no. C/VOU/OFF-IT/08/17-MA2) in the last four months need not re-apply.
