APAC Tax Advisor (Hong Kong) 

Our client is a Global Shipping and Logistics company with offices all over the world. They are seeking an APAC Tax Advisor for their Hong Kong Offices.

The APAC Tax Advisor will specialize in providing the corporate tax group with divisional tax support.  

Role Purpose:

The main duty of the Tax Advisor will be to direct and coordinate on a divisional basis the international tax matters of the company, to ensure foreign and US tax compliance.

Role Profile

Role Title: APAC Tax Advisor
Role Location: Hong Kong
Reporting To: APAC Tax Manager

Responsibilities

  • Report to the APAC Tax Manager,
  • You are required to provide the corporate tax group with divisional tax support to assist in the discharge of its responsibilities, direct and coordinate on a divisional basis the international tax matters of the company.
  • To ensure foreign and US tax compliance
  • Planning and research and the proper structuring of divisional international transactions.
  • Moreover, you are responsible for analyzing and managing the corporation’s divisional tax risks and assist in resolution of local tax issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Accounting or Law. CPA, CTA and/or advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in corporate taxation. Big4 CPA firms or MNC experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of international tax laws and issues with strong research skills and technical writing ability
  • Knowledge of tax accounting and financial accounting
  • Able to work independently under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and human relations skills for the successful interface with executive management and officers of the company and outside advisors
  • Able to provide guidance to team members, where necessary
  • Skilled in project management
  • Travelling may be required
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (both written and spoken)
