The Salvation Army is an international Christian church and charity working in 128 countries and has been serving Hong Kong for over 85 years providing an extensive range of services which spans educational, social as well as Christian. We are called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to supporting the people in need in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China without discrimination; and strive to respond to local needs, emergencies and disasters with the love of God.

 

The Salvation Army Recycling Programme runs 17 family stores and a centralized warehouse. It welcomes both organization and personal donations of clothing and goods. Donated goods are sorted, distributed and sold in Family Stores in Hong Kong and Macau. The net proceeds will go to The Salvation Army for use across its invaluable community programmes. Some of the donated goods will directly help those people in need, such as home alone elderly, street sleepers, ex-prisoners and CSSA recipients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be responsible for all sales revenue, surplus, and costs of the sales functions being assigned, and reach their KPI targets
  • To assist Sales & Merchandising Manager in all aspects of Sales & Merchandising Team operations which include but not limited to people management, store operations, merchandising, customer relationship management, budgeting, planning, monitoring, analysis and reporting
  • To initiate development & implementation of retail strategies & actions plans at operational level
  • To lead new store opening & renovation project
  • To review & update the Operations Manual including all guideline & procedures
  • To handle customers complaints
  • To assure the completeness and well organization of the documentation for Sales & Merchandising Team
  • Perform any other legitimate duties assigned by supervisor and management

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • An understanding of the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army
  • Bachelor degree, preferably in field of Retail/ Marketing/ Supply Chain Management; preferably in multi-national company related to Retail industry
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in sales and merchandising field, with 2 years in management level. A good understanding of retail sector and on-line sales is an advantageous
  • Initiative, organized, responsible, detail minded, with strong sense of commitment and able to work under pressure
  • With excellent leadership, people management & staff development skills
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills with passion in retail, with good presentation skill
  • Excellent analytical skills, organizational skill and detail oriented
  • Immediate available is preferred
