With the support of the Government, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (“HKADC”) is developing and running more spaces and venues for the arts community. The spaces include various artist studios, a multi-functional arts event space, a performing arts centre with studios, commercial units, venues for rehearsal and staging arts performances and an arts information centre. The HKADC is now looking for an Arts Space Executive Manager to supervise the execution and operation of these various arts space projects in Hong Kong.


Responsibilities:

  • To supervise the tenancy, facility and property management, and the maintenance work of different arts spaces
  • To be in charge of the tenants’ recruitment and selection exercise, as well as formulate and implement leasing strategies for the commercial units of designated arts spaces
  • To work closely with design/architectural partners, building contractors and governmental departments to ensure the design-and-build work of any new arts space projects fulfill the needs of HKADC as the end user
  • To formulate guidelines for tenants, facilities’ users and premises’ operators
  • To monitor the performance of arts spaces’ service providers/ contractors
  • To handle procurement and tenders
  • To monitor and control a balanced budget of all arts space projects
  • To promote collaborative synergies with different stakeholders in the development of different arts spaces
  • To provide administrative support to related committees of HKADC or other stakeholders, including the preparation of discussion papers, minutes and follow-up actions

 

Requirements:

  • A recognized university degree in Real Estate, Property/ Facility Management, Surveying, Construction Project Management or related disciplines
  • At least 7 years relevant full-time working experience in leasing and facility/ property management
  • Experience in running arts venues and working with the Government or public bodies will be an absolute advantage
  • Experience in preparing and handling tender documents and leasing agreements
  • Ability in reading and understanding floor plans and construction drawings will be an added advantage
  • Professional and tactful manner in communicating with different stakeholders
  • Strong administrative and problem solving skill
  • Highly-motivated, responsible, dynamic, independent and able to lead a small team to achieve set goals
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Chinese
