Assistant Administrative Manager II

School of Graduate Studies

The School of Graduate Studies is established for strengthening the central support for postgraduate programmes as well as the monitoring of their quality in alignment with the University’s strategic direction of expanding and providing quality postgraduate education. The School is expected to be in its full-fledged operation by the start of the 2019-20 academic year.

 

The appointee will be required to provide a wide range of administrative support to matters pertaining to research postgraduate studies, from academic quality assurance and promotion of programmes, day-to-day operations in student registration, records, assessment and study progression, to financial support and academic services to research postgraduate students. The appointee is also expected to provide secretarial support to committees if necessary and perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least five years’ post qualification experience, preferably in supporting research postgraduate matters; (iii) considerable administrative experience with a high level of competence in committee work; (iv) strong analytical and logical thinking, and interpersonal, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills; (v) a very good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (vi) the ability to take the initiative and to carry out duties independently and under tight schedule; and (vii) a strong sense of responsibility. Previous experience in automating work processes in the university setting and knowledge of IT applications will be a definite advantage.

 

Salary and Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
