The Bursary, the finance office of the University that serves a full range of business and financial management needs in support of the University’s mission, is looking for a seasoned and qualified professional to assume a managerial position in the office. The appointee is responsible for financial planning and execution of projects. Detailed information of the Bursary’s functions is available at

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting, finance or business administration; (ii) a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent); (iii) at least twelve years’ relevant work experience (of which at least five years at supervisory/managerial level) acquired in an advanced computerized environment of a large organization; (iv) familiarity with ERP system (ideally with experience in SAP) and MS Office; (v) experience in financial planning and budgeting; (vi) proficiency in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (vii) self-motivation, good analytical ability, strong leadership and effective interpersonal skills, good team-work spirit; (viii) capability to work under pressure; and (ix) excellent project management and organizational abilities. Working experience in handling finance-related matters of tertiary institutions or public sector will be an advantage.

Duties include (a) financial planning, budgeting and reporting; (b) monitoring of self-financed programme accounts; (c) collaborating with IT colleagues to enhance the management information systems; (d) co-ordinating and implementing the new systems development projects on cost allocation, leading processes re-engineering/transformation; (e) managing the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting policies; and (f) committee work and other duties as assigned.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
