Assistant Computer Officer (Application Development) (Ref. 1600028Z) (closing date: November 29, 2016)
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; (ii) at least 3 years work experience in software development (a work portfolio and good graphic design skills will be advantageous); (iii) substantial knowledge of web development technologies, e.g. HTML/CSS, Java, PHP, NodeJS, AJAX and Database; (iv) experience in developing full stack web application and managing a mid/large scale web application in technical aspects; (v) proficiency in OOP algorithm and open source package; and (vi) excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The appointee will work for the ‘Career and Life Adventure Planning for Youth Project (CLAP for Youth @ JC)’ in the Faculty of Education supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The appointee will (a) develop web applications and produce technology deliverables on schedule with high quality; (b) make sound technological decisions and provide technical advice for engineers in the team; (c) work with IT team members to design and build the infrastructure for the e-education platform and resources; and (d) assist in technical aspects of the Project, including but not limited to project implementation, project report development, publicity and dissemination events. Appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
