Assistant Information Manager I
Information Technology Services Centre

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the appointee will be responsible for (i) managing the operation of ITSC helpdesk and handling enquiries from other channels; (ii) planning and implementing the installation, upgrade, replacement, maintenance and withdrawal of frontline desktop computers, audio-visual (AV) equipment, classroom computing facilities and computer laboratory facilities; (iii) supervising and coaching the User Services Team; (iv) overseeing all User Services activities and projects; (v) managing IT and AV support services for university events; (vi) planning and arranging IT training services for staff and students; (vii) managing up-to-date user services documentation and inventories; (viii) budget planning and control for the User Services Team; (ix) recommending and promoting the latest IT market trends; and (x) performing any other duties as requested by supervisor.




Requirements:
Applicants should have (i) a Degree/Higher Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System or related disciplines; (ii) at least 5 – 7 years’ experience in customer services in enterprise organisations plus 3-5 years of supervising subordinates in an IT environment; (iii) excellent interpersonal and customer services skills; (iv) strong track record in desktop computing and audio visual technology; (v) solid experience in IT trainings and IT knowledge base management; (vi) strong leadership, coaching and team-building skills; and (vii) excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates with less experience will also be considered for appointment at a lower rank.


Salary and Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
