The HKIC is looking for a highly talented individual to fill the position of:
Assistant Lecturer (Foundation Skills Subjects)

The applicant must possess

  1. a recognised degree in Information Technology/ Chinese Language/ English Language/ Mathematics or related disciplines, with Teacher Certificate or Diploma is preferred;
  2. a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in teaching and curriculum development of Foundation skills subjects (i.e. IT, Chinese, English, or Mathematics) in education and / or vocational training institutions; preferably with experience in curriculum development, including developing and reviewing curriculum, drafting teaching & learning materials and assessment, etc.;
  3. good understanding of Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF) and outcome-based education; 
  4. knowledge and experience in Construction Industry will be an advantage;
  5. good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  6. self-driven character to pursue training and continuous education; and
  7. ability to work independently with minimal guidance as a team player.

 

(Applicants who do not possess the required qualifications and / or experience may be considered for other positions within the organisation.)

 

Duties include

  1. to undertake teaching of Foundation skills subject at different campuses of HKIC;
  2. to work with different teaching teams to review Foundation skills subjects in construction programmes;
  3. to produce learning & training materials to comply with the training requirement and development of the industry, and ensure they are periodically updated;
  4. to assist in the developing programme curriculum and accreditation exercises internally and externally; and
  5. to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
