Hang Seng Management College (HSMC) was restructured from the former Hang Seng School of Commerce and established in 2010 as a non-profit-making private university-level institution with five Schools (Business, Communication, Decision Sciences, Humanities & Social Science, and Translation), about 5,000 full-time students and 185 full-time faculty members. Responsibilities:

  • manage the life-cycle of electronic resources, include sourcing and evaluation of new resources, licensing, access management, usage analysis and delivery of user support;
  • assist with the management of purchase and subscription of electronic resources;
  • assist with library collection development and review of related policies in response to development of curriculum;
  • contribute to the evaluation of collections and their promotion plans; and
  • perform reference duties and provide support on orientation programme and user education workshops.

Applicants should:

  • possess a recognized university degree and professional qualification in librarianship (MLS or equivalent);
  • have at least 2 years of post-qualification experience;
  • have experience in licensing issue and electronic resource management;
  • have experience in academic liaison with faculty members;
  • have knowledge of collection assessment and management; and
  • have excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

 

The appointee will be required to work shifts in evenings, on weekends and public holidays.  Applicants with work experience in the tertiary education sector will be an advantage.
