Assistant Manager (Alumni Affairs) (Ref. 19092002-E2)


The appointee will be required to:

(a) plan for and execute various activities/projects for promoting alumni affairs of the University, including the Chinese mainland and overseas;

(b) liaise with alumni associations/bodies, internal departments and external organizations for organizing alumni activities/projects;

(c) promote partnership with and solicit support from alumni for enhancing the sustainable development of the University;

(d) prepare promotional materials and publications, and manage/update websites and social media platforms for promoting communication with alumni;

(e) provide secretarial support to alumni associations, committees and working groups, including the preparation of proposals and reports; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office and/or her designate(s) from time to time.

The appointee will be required to work outside normal office hours for the purposes of attending meetings and/or events/activities, and travel regularly to the Chinese mainland and overseas for liaison/co-ordination/networking functions.


Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree in a related discipline, with at least five years’ relevant post-qualification work experience. Experience in communications, marketing and/or event management is a key advantage;

(b) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua;

(c) possess good interpersonal and event management skills;

(d) be a good team player, be highly self-motivated and be able to complete tasks independently under a tight timeline; and

(e) have sound knowledge of various computer software applications, preferably with solid experience in social media marketing.

Preference will be given to those with prior experience in alumni affairs of higher education institutions. Work experience with mainland counterparts will be an asset. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
