We are looking for a high caliber individual to join our Group Sustainability as Assistant Manager – ESG Data & Reporting. Key responsibilities include: 

 

The Position Profile:

  • Support the production of the annual CLP Sustainability Report and the development of the ESG sections in the CLP Annual Report

  • Support the ESG materiality assessment process for CLP Group

  • Support the development of CLP responses to ESG indices and/or questionnaires, such as CDP, Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index and others as appropriate

  • Support the development of accurate and timely responses to ESG queries from the finance sector, including investors, lenders and insurers

  • Analyse ESG data and assessment results, including emerging stakeholder trends, benchmarking of CLP Group's sustainability and/or operational performance against industry peers & leaders, and identify areas for improvement for Senior Management consideration

  • Support CLP Business Units with technical insights and expertise related to ESG reporting 

  • Support the development of CLP Group responses to ESG reporting related public consultations

  • Monitor emerging stakeholder trends and international ESG-related policies and potential local ESG-related regulations particularly in the jurisdictions where we operate

 

Requirements:

  • A relevant and recognised University degree in business, finance, science, engineering, environment, or sustainability-related program or studies; A second and/or higher degree in a related field is preferred

  • Professional qualifications and/or memberships in a field of science, engineering, business, environment or sustainability is an advantage

  • 5-8 years of experience in either business, finance, science, engineering, environmental or sustainability areas; with at least 3 years of experience in ESG reporting and/or related fields preferred

  • Knowledgeable in ESG data management, optimization, benchmarking, and research

  • Experience in interpreting scientific and technical reports 

  • Advanced presentation skills and ability to articulate complex technical issues 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and organizational skills and ability to work under pressure to deal with multiple tasks and tight deadlines

  • High proficiency in written and spoken English required, knowledge of Cantonese/ Mandarin will be considered an advantage
