Responsibilities:

  • Analyses corporate risk exposure and advise appropriate insurance coverage
  • Assist in the annual policy renewal exercise, including but not limited to collecting and review the underwriting information, reviewing insurance quotes and negotiating the insurance terms and conditions with insurance brokers, drafting internal memo for senior management approval etc.
  • Assist in the WTO GPA tendering process of purchasing and/or renewal of insurance policies
  • Review insurance policies to ensure accuracy and appropriate coverage, and evaluate insurance requirement of business partners including franchisees, licensees, construction contractors and services providers
  • Perform insurance claims management and reporting as required
  • Handle internal enquiries on insurance related matters within a very tight timeline
  • Liaise with external professional parties including insurance brokers, insurers, risk engineers, surveyors, legal counsels and loss adjusters in claims handling, loss investigation, risk engineering survey etc.
  • Assist in the tendering process for insurance consultancy contracts
  • Keep abreast of the changes of insurance regulatory requirements and make recommendation to management
  • Supervise senior insurance officers for their performance
  • Work overtime is required, in order to achieve the tight timeline
  • Report duty on Saturday and/or public holidays for emergency case, if necessary
  • Perform any ad-hoc assignments as required, in a stressful working environment and within a very tight timeline

 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Insurance, Business Administration or related disciplines
  • Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, or Australian and New Zealand Institute of insurance is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years insurance related experience gained from sizable organizations, reputable insurance companies, or international insurance brokerage firms
  • Specific experience in insurance brokering, underwriting, claims handling or experience gained in similar in-house position is preferred. Exposure in aviation insurance is an advantage
  • Good knowledge in property insurance, casualty insurance, and construction related insurance arrangements with exposure in technical claims and interpretation of legal liability
  • Proactive, attentive to details and flexible to business change
  • Recognize the importance of providing high quality services and deliverables
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua is a plus
