Assistant Manager, Trade Marketing (Ref: AMS-AMTM)

Purpose of the Position:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Trade Marketing, you will be joining the team as Assistant Manager, responsible for the planning & execution of B2B marketing activities across Hong Kong, China, Singapore and International markets.

The role is based in Hong Kong initiating the Sales Enabling activities with an integration of marketing activities promoting AMS and the publishing business of SCMP engaging advertisers, agencies, prospects and partners.


Job Responsibilities:

  • To reach out actively across the APAC region, identifying the relevant industry conferences, trade publications, industry associations and marketing community / network for promoting SCMP and AMS

  • To identify speaking opportunities for AMS leaders from digital marketing, audience targeting, branded content to video marketing for building the thought-leadership of SCMP among marketers community

  • To liaise with Corporate Communications team in pitching interviews and trade coverage for AMS leaders and significant projects for advertisers in the region

  • To create/identify sales networking or sponsorship opportunities and take the lead in the development of high quality marketing elements and events as needed

  • To maintain / build relationship with industry associations and initiate strategic partnerships or trade events for maximizing the awareness of SCMP and generate leads for AMS

  • To contribute to the organisation and smooth running of trade events, undertaking a range of event facilitation from planning to execution

  • To help maintain the B2B website and channels liaising with different departments, products owners and content partners and assist AMS leaders to develop thought-leadership articles

  • To manage and track the enewsletter communications, website contents distribution and enhancing the B2B database applying different analytics or automation tools

  • To work with in house creative, event and content teams and external vendors to implement tactical marketing campaigns for specific market(s) as needed

  • To act as Brand Guardian to region for trade assets, ensuring brand consistency across different markets through extensive liaison with both production and regional teams

  • Monitor competitive media brands and relevant local and regional titles


Job Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in managing multiple marketing projects in media business, advertising, PR or communications agencies

  • Proven PR / Events marketing experience with a track record of delivering scalable events and media relationships handling

  • Working experience in MNC or handling regional projects in APAC is preferred

  • Digital marketing background is an advantage, including but not limited to website development, digital advertising, email, social media & content marketing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, Mandarin speaking is a plus

  • Willing to learn and adapt quickly with attention to details and curiosity to ask questions  

  • Team player, and expert communicator and collaborator

  • Competent in Google Analytics, Google Slides (PowerPoint) and Google Sheet (Excel)
