Assistant Officer (Ref. 17040504-E)


The appointee will be required to:

(a)  provide administrative support to the Research Postgraduate Programmes, including making offers, subject registration, updating student records, inputting award requirements, updating supervisor information, arranging oral examinations and collecting approved theses;

(b)  provide administrative support to the Departmental Research Committee;

(c)  provide administrative support to research grant applications;

(d)  handle enquiries from staff members and research students;

(e)  handle information flow and maintain an effective record system; and

(f)  perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his/her delegates.


Applicants should have:

(a)  a recognised degree, preferably with three years’ relevant working experience gained from tertiary education institutions;

(b)  a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(c)  good computer literacy, including MS Office and Chinese word processing; and

(d)  good communication and interpersonal skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
