Department of Chinese Language Studies

Faculty of Humanities

 

The Faculty of Humanities seeks applications for a full-time academic position at the rank of Assistant Professor.  The appointee will be responsible for teaching duties for undergraduate programmes and/or above; contributing to programme development; engaging in departmental and Faculty services such as the editing of the referred journal; and pursuing an active research and publication agenda.

 

Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in Chinese language studies, and should be an expert in teaching Chinese as second language (TCSL) and Chinese linguistics.  The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the building of a strong research team and actively seek competitive external research grants.

  

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.  Fringe benefits include contract-end gratuity, leave, medical and dental benefits, and where applicable, housing benefits.
