THE JOB

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager (Administration) will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To support project work for the Sports Science and Research Funding Scheme ("SSRFS") managed by the HKSI; https://www.hksi.org.hk/ssrfs

  • To review project proposals and verify compliance with the requirement of the SSRFS;
  • To draft funding agreements for approved projects;
  • To provide executive support to the monitoring of funded projects against funding agreements, coordinate the assessment of progress/completion reports by committees and arrange disbursement of funds;
  • To provide secretarial and logistical support to meetings and events;
  • To assist in preparing committee papers and management briefs on the vetting and project progression of funded projects, returns and statistics about the SSRFS;
  • To liaise and work closely with administrative units (internal and collaborating parties) about the operation of the SSRFS; to consolidate financial and progress reports;
  • To organise and coordinate activities and publicity initiatives;
  • To handle general enquiries;
  • To supervise the work of Project Officer in duties and performance to ensure timely completion of assigned duties; and
  • To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • A university degree in Business or relevant discipline; A postgraduate degree is preferred;

  • A minimum of 4 years of work experience in administrative support positions; preference will be given to candidates with work experience in research administration, public funding administration, project management in public/higher education sector;
  • Excellent project management, writing, presentation, and communication skills; attention to detail is a must;
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese; ability to speak Putonghua would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of scientific elite training or previous experience in a similar setting is preferred; and
  • Awareness/knowledge of Child Protection in sports and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.
