The Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), formerly The Open University of Hong Kong, is a modern, vibrant and dynamic university. Assistant Public Affairs Manager (Multimedia Communications) (Ref: 22000VR)

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs or his/her nominee(s) in the Public Affairs Office (PAO), the appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting in developing creative ideas and storyboards (including conducting research, interviews, write-ups) for producing multimedia/online publicity materials;
  • Assisting in recording video messages for various occasions, conducting photo and/or simple video shooting of events, and post-production (including primary edits) to produce multimedia/online publicity materials for sharing with media and/or on social media platforms and website;
  • Working with video producer(s) to produce a series of videos to highlight the uniqueness, strengths, achievements and developments of the University;
  • Working closely with other members of the PR & Development team to identify faculty/research/student/alumni stories of the University for sharing through multimedia channels;
  • Providing support in developing the new “News Centre” and managing the University’s website and other digital portals; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Affairs or his/her nominee. 

 

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

 

  • A recognized degree, preferably in communications, creative media, multimedia journalism or related disciplines;
  • At least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification work experience in marketing, public relation and journalism fields, preferably with experience in creative agencies, video production and social media marketing;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua is an added advantage);
  • Proficiency in web technologies, computer applications and video editing software;
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and can-do spirit;
  • Good communication, multi-tasking and time management skills, and the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines; and
  • Work outside office hours may be required.

 

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a test on writing skills and video editing.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
