INTERDISCIPLINARY DIVISION OF AERONAUTICAL AND AVIATION ENGINEERING

 

Assistant Technical Officer (Ref. 20031803-E2) 

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a) support academic staff in conducting laboratory classes; 

(b) provide support to HKAR-147 Approved Maintenance Training/Examinations implementation; 

(c) assist in new equipment installation and making preparation for the training sessions in the laboratory; 

(d) provide trainings and instructions to users on the proper use of equipment in the laboratory;

(e) receive visitors to the laboratory and demonstrate the use of equipment in the laboratory; 

(f) provide technical support on the use of equipment and administrative support to the laboratory operations; 

(g) maintain laboratory equipment and facilities in good condition; 

(h) assist in research, consultancy activities and projects for staff and students; 

(i) provide technical support to staff and students of the Division; 

(j) provide support on University’s and departmental health and safety policy implementation; and 

(k) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Division or his delegates.

 

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a) a recognised degree or above in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a relevant discipline; 

(b) post-qualification experience, preferably in the fields of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, avionics or aviation engineering; 

(c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; 

(d) strong analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills; and 

(e) self-motivation and the ability to work independently.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
