Associate Accountant (Ref. 19072402-IE)


The appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

(a) conducting statistical analyses and projection on government subvention;

(b) executing the resources allocation model of the University in compilation of departmental and the University’s budgets;

(c) working collaboratively across the Finance Office to support data analytics for financial reporting and projection;

(d) handling general office administration; and

(e) performing any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or her delegates.


Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree in Accounting/Mathematics/Statistics or related disciplines;

(b) have at least two years of post-qualification experience in jobs involving statistical analyses and interpretation of vast amount of data;

(c) have a high-level user ability with database management and office computer applications including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with knowledge of Oracle Financials being an advantage;

(d) have a strong numerical sense as well as an analytical and logical mind;

(e) have a sound knowledge of data processing and be capable of converting a mass volume of raw data into a presentable format;

(f) have the ability to draw insight and actionable intelligence from varied data sets;

(g) have preferably passed a professional accounting examination or equivalent;

(h) be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese; and

(i) have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
