Objectives and Responsibilities

HKSTP's vision is to build a vibrant Innovation & Technology Ecosystem that delivers social and economic benefit to HK. The Corporation focuses on connecting stakeholders to foster collaboration and catalyze innovation and commercialization of new ideas.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position works closely with senior leadership team on overall strategic engagement and commercial deliverables for the Mainland market.  He / She is responsible for the growth and reputation and the future of the Corporation.  Provides leadership in the following major areas:

Mainland Collaboration 

  • Maintain relationships with the China Community including the Mainland government authorities, institutions, academia, etc. The manager is the window to the world  
  • Identify opportunities for partnership and collaborate with technology cluster teams to attract companies & research institutes with leading innovations & technologies to Hong Kong  
  • Owns a prospect list of Anchor companies and the key accounts development and engagement plan from Chairman to Executives.  
  • Work with incubators, universities, start-up communities in China to bring entrepreneurs to Hong Kong  
  • Leverage on the existing resources including China government authorities, InvestHK, HKTDC and other available channels, to create and follow up opportunities.
  • Conduct market research for partnership and formulate short and long term corporate strategy, with goals to drive Hong Kong’s innovation and technology progression

Lead Generation

  • Responsible for developing business relationships with potential tenants for all technology clusters  
  • Connect with various market channels to reach out to all potential tenants interested to know STP  
  • Conduct market studies on potential tenants’ rental renewal requirements and provide information and support as necessary  
  • Work closely with technology cluster teams and be accountable for prospect client solicitation and quality
  •  Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Commercial Officer.

Requirements

  • University or post-graduate degree in Engineering or Science and preferably with MBA degree;  
  • Over 10 years' relevant experience in Business Development, Mainland Engagement at a senior executive level with a technology based organization;  
  • Any previous experience in Electronics, ICT, Biotech, Material Science and Environmental engineering field is desirable;
  •  Have good understanding of technology business and is able to communicate effectively with industry players and stakeholders; and at the same time having a strong marketing sense;  
  • Extensive network in China and able to build relationships with Universities, Industries, Clients and Consultants;
  • Strong communication skills with excellent command of spoken/written English and Mandarin;  
  • Personal attributes: versatile and dynamic, mature and entrepreneurial flair with excellent interpersonal skills and is able to command impact on people; passionate with can-do attitude;  
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered for lower position.
