Established by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”) in 2010, Tung Wah College (TWC) is a self-financing degree-granting institution registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap.320). Following the educational ideals of TWGHs and leveraging on its renowned strengths and expertise, TWC aims to provide high quality tertiary education to nurture competent, socially responsible and caring professionals for the benefits of society.

With the staunch support of TWGHs, TWC has been developing rapidly and built up a niche in healthcare education. It is the first self-financing tertiary institution offering professionally accredited degrees to train allied health professionals such as medical laboratory technologists, occupational therapists and radiation therapists. Besides, the College is also the first institution registered under Cap. 320 offering early childhood education degree and higher diploma programmes to train qualified kindergarten teachers and child care professionals.

Currently, TWC has 4 schools (namely School of Arts and Humanities, School of Management, School of Medical and Health Sciences, and School of Nursing) offering a total of 17 Degree and Higher Diploma programmes in several disciplines. It has a student population of about 2,800.

Being a young and vibrant institution, TWC aspires to become a leading private university in the long term. It is planning to launch a number of new programmes, strengthen teaching and learning facilities and quality, and enhance research capability etc. in coming years. The appointee will support all aspects of academic activities through teaching, research, and consultancy; contribute to the planning, formulation and implementation of the College and School’s strategic initiatives and development; participate in programme development and validation exercises; take up responsibilities in academic and departmental administration and clinical teaching; guide / facilitate the College in enhancing its visibility and strengthening its local and international connections; take the initiative in promoting good teaching and collaborative research; liaise with external bodies for job placements and professional development; engage in research and have publication output, in accordance to the workload requirements of the College; perform scholarly activities; increase the publication output and raise the level of consultancies in respective discipline(s); oversee / perform other academic activities including academic advising, examination and assessment, student recruitment, committee works, whole person development activities of students; undertake professional service to external professional body / organization and provide public services to the community.

Applicants should possess a PhD degree / Professional Doctorate in a relevant discipline with not less than 7 years of substantial relevant experience in teaching and research in Medical Science in the tertiary education sector, programme development and programme leadership; an international reputation in high quality scholarship and research outputs and publications in journals with high impact in the relevant discipline; and a demonstrated solid teaching record.  

Applicant must possess a Hong Kong Medical Laboratory Technologist Board registration and a valid practicing certificate together with not less than 7 years of teaching / clinical laboratory / research experience in the field of Cellular Pathology and Molecular Diagnostics.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
