Associate Registrar/Senior Administrative Manager
School of Graduate Studies

The School of Graduate Studies is established for strengthening the central support for postgraduate programmes as well as the monitoring of their quality in alignment with the University’s strategic direction of expanding and providing quality postgraduate education. 

As a senior member of the School, the appointee will be required to supervise and provide administrative support for a wide range of duties pertaining to taught postgraduate programmes of the University including, but not limited to, formulation of academic policies and regulations, academic development, academic quality assurance and enhancement, programme review and approval, and other University-wide and School-wide initiatives. The appointee will also provide secretarial support to committees as required, and supervise staff in carrying out their duties.

Requirements
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) 15 years’ post qualification experience, preferably with tertiary education institutions; (iii) substantial experience in administration and a high level of competence in committee work; (iv) very strong analytical and logical thinking, and interpersonal, communication, coordination and problem solving skills; (v) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), especially with a high level of English proficiency in writing reports, proposals and minutes; (vi) the ability to take the initiative and to carry out duties independently and under tight schedule; (vii) a strong sense of responsibility; and (viii) good supervisory skills. Knowledge in IT applications and previous experience in quality assurance and enhancement matters of taught programmes will be a definite advantage.

Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

Salary and Benefits
Commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.

The appointment will normally be made on an initial contract for up to two years with the possibility of contract renewal subject to mutual agreement.
