Babies & Toddlers Teacher


  • Oversee the B&T sessions and work closely with other teachers and management as needed
  • Utilise the British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to provide a safe, stimulating session to meet the social, linguistic, creative, physical, imaginative, and emotional needs of each child
  • Establish productive working relationships with children and act as a role model
  • Organise and manage an appropriate learning environment and resources
  • Select and prepare resources to take account of the children’s interests, language and cultural background
  • Plan and prepare for activities, conduct classroom teaching and assessments to meet the developmental and learning needs of individual students
  • Monitor, evaluate and adjust individual plans as appropriate as the children reach the next stage in their development
  • Evaluate and report on each student’s progress and school performance
  • Take responsibility for the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategies appropriate for the age and ability of the children in the group
  • Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers, exchanging information
  • Encourage all children to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all children in activities
  • To manage resources effectively and ensure classrooms are left tidy and ready for the next session
  • Take time to listen and respond to children and encourage them to develop
  • Provide information and advice to enable the children to make choices about their own behaviour.
  • Ensure the children are supervised at all times
  • Ensure any accidents are recorded in the diary
  • Attend teacher training presentations and workshops
  • Ensure that there are good standards of hygiene and that equipment is safe and regularly checked for repair.
  • Assist in school functions, such as school open day or sports day
  • Contribute to the progress and development of the school
  • Ensure wider communication of the B&T activities for example, by contributing to a newsletter and web-based methods.
  • Such other duties may be assigned by the Head of Babies and Toddlers.



  • Relevant Child Care Certificate is preferred, or a Degree/Higher Diploma or TEFL
  • Experience in Playgroup, Pre-Nursery and/or Kindergarten
  • Native English speaker
  • Applicants who are less qualified but have relevant experience may be considered
  • Willing to work on Saturdays
