We are continuing to expand our market share as the leading Financial Services software provider and want to enhance our North Asia team in Hong Kong with a Business Development Representative.

The position thrives in a fast-paced environment and is accountable for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities for the Alternative Investments sales team. The Business Development Representative has strong business acumen, enjoys prospecting daily and is skilled at qualifying new customer opportunities, introducing the company service, and conducting initial discovery to confirm a business need.

About the team

Our Alternative Investments team in Hong Kong builds relationships and business within a fast paced, high-growth software-as-a-service market with private equity, venture capital, real estate and hedge fund professionals. This is a collaborative, dynamic team of sales professionals working out of our offices and in the field. The company is a sales-driven organization providing the tools, training, and internal resources to support success.

Description

  • Identify new contacts in the Alternative Investments universe - comprising private equity, venture capital, real estate and hedge funds - and engage with them through a combination of cold calling, lead follow up, target account prospecting and market research

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified business opportunities

  • Track and summarize news related to activities in the Alternative Investments universe (e.g. portfolio exits, private placements, buyouts and pre-IPOs) which could lead to new business opportunities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company service offerings for Alternative Investments clients

  • Gain a thorough understanding of our target accounts' businesses and how our services can support their strategic goals

  • Support the Alternative Investments sales team during field activities i.e. networking events, conferences, client meetings

Profile

  • Bachelors' degree

  • 3 years of experience in a related business development or pipeline development role

  • Ability to successfully prospect and qualify new opportunities - strong business acumen

  • CRM experience, preferably Salesforce

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based technologies

  • Professional competency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese

  • Customer-oriented

  • Preference given to candidates with experience selling software and financial services

  • Knowledge of or experience in Alternative Investments preferred
