Chief Information Officer (Ref: 2200531)

Reporting to the Vice President (Administration), the Chief Information Officer has the overall responsibility for the strategic direction, development, implementation and maintenance of the University’s IT strategy and environment, IT related policies, standards and procedures as well as information and technology systems of the University to support its vision and missions. Leading a team of professionals to manage all information systems to meet the business needs of the University, the appointee will also head the development of business intelligence applications to assist decision making and planning. Moreover, the appointee will also be responsible for overseeing the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure and delivery and promotion of the use of technology to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of teaching, learning, research and administrative operation of the University. He/she will provide professional advice for and work collaboratively with various units enhancing the capacity of academic and administrative planning and development through the delivery of enhanced Management Information System. He/she will also represent the University in inter-institutional IT projects and dealing with Government authorities, statutory bodies, organizations, consultants and other outside bodies on all IT-related matters.

Applicants should have a recognized degree and relevant professional qualifications; substantial senior management experience in sizable organizations; good knowledge in all aspects of technology such as network, servers, database and application development; strong leadership; excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with members of University-level committees, government officials and stakeholders of the University; proficiency in both written and spoken English; and preferably with in-depth understanding of IT in Education and diversified IT requirements to support teaching, learning and research in the tertiary education sector.
