RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide strategic leadership in respect of Rehabilitation Services and Social Enterprise / Senior Citizens Services / Youth, Family & Community Services
  • Identify social needs, recommend social services research, policy and directions of development
  • Develop, monitor and manage the particular stream-related projects
  • Responsible for recommending comprehensive management policy, fulfilling service standard and other requirements of legislations, government departments, and funding bodies, ensure proper policy implementation in service units
  • Provide professional supervision to responsible service clusters and units
  • Assist in drafting applications for funding, project proposals, tendering documents, for securing necessary resources to support services
  • Responsible for preparing budgets for responsible services and regular reviews of financial reports, ensure service units operate within budget
  • Represent the Army’s in meetings and activities of the government, social welfare agencies and other organizations in areas related to services responsible for
  • Ensure compassionate, timely and high quality social services are provided to meet the needs of the community
  • Perform any other legitimate duties assigned by the Supervisor or Head of department

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • An understanding of the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army
  • Registered Social Worker with Master Degree in Social Work or related disciplines
  • At least 15 years of social services management, finance, personnel and administrative experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in providing vision and strategic plans for social service development in Rehabilitation and Social Enterprise / Senior Citizens Services / Youth, Family and Community Services
  • Knowledgeable in social policies and services, government and non-government machineries
  • Possess strong project management and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent in communicating in English and Chinese (written and spoken), including Putonghua
  • Able to work under pressure, and working irregular hours and in holidays may be required
