Responsibilities

  • Support Director of the Legal Affairs Department in managing legal operations of a HK-based state-owned company, including supporting all aspects and phases of corporate and legal transactions and projects as they arise and coordinating with outside counsels.
  • Assist in legal document management and legal research, including the formatting, drafting, and revision of legal documents; administer use of and maintain formal legal documents.
  • Communicate and obtain information from/for internal and external clients for various projects.
  • Review, update and analyze related laws, policies, and other business organizational and governance records.
  • Project management and coordination for various projects including litigation, disputes, and other legal transactions as needed.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and assist in developing presentations and project reports.
  • Translate related legal documents from English to Chinese or vice versa.
  • Support travel and expense planning and reporting.
 
Qualification and Experience

  • Master degree and 5+ years’ experience as a paralegal or legal secretary; must have significant understanding of legal processes and familiarity with legal terms and concepts.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities to deliver solutions within strict deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent proofreading skills.
  • Polished verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including comfort in dealing with senior management. Fluent English interpretation ability is necessary.
  • Proactive approach and ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions. Self-starter with excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
