Risk and Compliance - Wholesale Credit and Market Risk

Hang Seng's Risk and Compliance ("RKM") strives to maintain a well-balanced risk profile for the Bank while enabling businesses to thrive. Our team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types. We are dedicated to collaborate with businesses, other functional units and regulatory bodies to develop and implement robust and customized risk management frameworks and measures to maintain the strong market position of the Bank.

Wholesale Credit Risk covers the approvals, policies, portfolio management and recovery of the Bank's Wholesale Credit Risk exposures; and working closely with Hang Seng Bank (China) Ltd Wholesale Credit Risk to ensure functional consistency in China.

Market Risk manages the risks that the value of an asset or liability may change as a result of a change in market rates or prices, such as interest rate, credit spread, exchange rate, equity price, etc., which are controlled by means of market risk measures set in accordance with risk appetite and limits.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join us as Data Management Manager.


Principal responsibilities

  • Work with Senior Data Management Manager on data management and data governance activities for Wholesale Credit and Market Risk.
  • Establish governance across various data management initiatives and shape the data standards, policies and methodologies that are aligned with Group Data Strategy for the on-going compliance of BCBS239 regulatory requirement.
  • Develop data tools and templates for business needs and comply with policies and requirements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine business needs in the areas of data maintenance, data governance and data architecture.
  • Proactively engage with regional teams for the strategic direction of Group data policies and  implementation of the data strategy
  • Manage governance for working groups and decision making forums.



  • Over 5 years of banking experience with good knowledge of business and operations.
  • Strong awareness of regulatory requirements for Financial Services industry.
  • Excellent business communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, particularly in English.
  • Strong business analysis and problem solving skills are essential.
  • Well-developed influencing skills are essential.
  • Ability to build connections, promote ideas and work collaboratively across all levels of seniority and across boundaries.
  • Well organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, focused, detailed oriented and able to work efficiently to deadlines are essential.  Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy. 
  • Confident, articulate and have a high degree of personal integrity.
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
  • Candidate with less banking experience but can demonstrate competence will also be considered.
