Working in partnership with our Store Manager, our Deputy will ensure the store meets and exceeds Fortnum & Mason’s standards and targets, while always adhering to our company objectives, vision and values. In addition, our candidate will coach and develop our sales team, ultimately coordinating, supervising and overseeing the planning, organisation and delegation of work. Also involved in trade and KPI reporting, our Deputy Manager will pull and communicate this information to our executive team, as well as the wider business on a continual basis.

As this is a sales and service focused role, we’re looking for a people-centric, confident and clear communicator, as in addition to hosting our customers, our Deputy Manager will work alongside other departments across the business, including, but not limited to, our visual merchandising and buying teams. Our successful candidate will be experienced in building and nurturing relationships, and will possess the ability to think and react quickly and rationally to ever-changing situations.

The successful candidate will also possess experience in

  • Team management
  • Recruitment and HR functions
  • Retail environment.

 

In addition, we require full flexibility to work varying shift patterns (including early mornings and late nights), and strong IT skills, with the ability to interpret financial and business reports. A strong standard of both written and spoken English is necessary, with additional languages looked upon favourably.
