We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Development Manager (RBWM Digital and Mobile)

Principal responsibilities 

The Development Manager is responsible for delivery projects for department RBWM Digital and Mobile:

  • Lead a team for the development and delivery of projects for digital / internet applications
  • Work as scrum master for digital / internet related projects
  • Responsible for systems development in RBWM Digital and Mobile areas.
  • Manage system development projects in the above business areas aligning with the Agile@HSBC project management framework.
  • Schedule and deliver system solutions in accordance with relevant business requirements.
  • Participate in the management of the relationship between the business and the IT Project teams, managing business expectations and negotiating win-win slutions where appropriate
  • Work closely with software engineers and developers, to ensure the delivered projects/ solutions can meet the budget, time-line, and quality objectives in alignment with business strategy.
  • Work with Group/Regional IT to understand the Group’s direction and IT solutions supporting the respective business areas and to implement the Bank strategy
  • Mobilize and engage all key stakeholders, contributors and business and technical resources that must participate in the assigned projects.
  • Prioritize and manage development and implementation of enhancements/changes; oversee testing processes and acceptance signoff
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and oversight of policy and governance frameworks, procedures and standards to ensure effective risk management, quality control and compliance are in place
  • Coach application developers on their job related responsibilities
  • Provide proactive consultancy to business users in formulating system solutions that can help business to capture revenue growth, improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Provide on-going support and maintenance for production systems and system enhancement to support strategic business growth and development

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Information System / Data Science or related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in development and support of banking applications; hands on application design / development experience in Java, cloud platform, Linux
  • Solid experience on automated testing, DevOps tools and CI/CD pipeline setup
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Agile project development and management framework
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, communication skills and quality orientation
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, Putonghua speaking is an advantage
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes

(Candidates with less experience will be considered for junior role.)
