Director, Business Development (Ref. No: HKRITA-DBD-11/20)

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the appointee will be required to:

• devise and establish policies for commercialisation;
• develop business strategies to facilitate technology transfer of the R&D project results/ deliverables;
• manage the marketing team to implement the marketing strategies and activities;
• identify business opportunities based on technologies developed by HKRITA;
• seek licensing, contract research and development opportunities;
• seek joint venture and collaboration opportunities and convert the opportunities identified into actual collaboration projects;
• work closely with the R&D Division on managing and following through the implementation of the R&D projects;
• carry out market research and technology analysis; and
• perform ad hoc duties may be assigned by the CEO.

Requirements

• A recognized degree in Textiles and Clothing or related disciplines, with a higher degree being an advantage;
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in textile and clothing, business development, marketing and technology development; have good understanding of the textiles and apparel industry and good contacts;
• Has the ability and experience in making public presentation;
• Possess a can-do attitude, be prepared to think and work outside the box, and be willing to learn and work outside normal office hours for completing the tasks;
• Be a good team player with excellent interpersonal, presentation and project management skills; and
• Be fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
• Preference will be given to those with knowledge of patent applications and commercial legal agreements, and experience in forming commercial joint venture.
