The Federation of Hong Kong Industries, one of the four major business associations in Hong Kong, is a statutory body established in 1960 to represent and serve the interests of Hong Kong’s industries. We endeavor to serve the needs of our members and foster Hong Kong’s economic development. Various events, seminars, missions and projects are organized to enhance the competitiveness of the industries, explore business opportunities for members in the Mainland and abroad, and facilitate networking and partnership among sectors and companies.

We are seeking a high caliber candidate with extensive experience and strong leadership to serve as Director-General to head our secretariat. This is a high profile and prominent position reporting to the General Committee of the Federation with frequent interaction with senior government officials and business leaders. Apart from overseeing the day to day operation of the Federation, the Director-General will take a proactive role in the planning and development of various business streams with a healthy budget. The Director-General is expected to provide vision and leadership in enhancing the Federation’s capability to promote the interest of members and the wider business community under the direction of the Federation’s General Committee.

We offer competitive salary package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experiences. Appointment will be made on the basis of a three-year contract. Renewal will be subject to performance review.

Qualifications required

  • A recognized university degree or higher academic or professional qualifications;
  • Over 20 years of solid managerial experience at senior level. Proven track record in managing sizable organisation and leading corporate development. Prior working experience in government organisations or statutory bodies will be a plus;
  • Good exposure to and knowledge of economic and market situation, both local and international. Strong business acumen and strategic mindset in operation and business development;
  • Quick, alert, able to handle public/business relations plus a high level of intellect and strategic abilities combined with good business perspective and connections;
  • Strong leadership, planning and analytical skills with proactive, tactful and result-oriented personality;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills with ability to handle delicate political issues;
  • Excellent English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
