Director of Product, Growth and Labs (Digital) - Product (Ref: PROD-DPGL)

Purpose of the Position:

Reporting to the Head of Product, this role is to lead the team responsible for all Growth and Labs initiatives, including user acquisition, retention, revenue, and various experimental projects. You will create the environment, process, and tools to grow existing products that already have product-market-fit, optimizing it to produce compound interest, and to experiment with innovative, far-horizon bets.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Have a strong vision for the Product strategy to inspire and motivate a cross-functional team and execute that vision consistently, rapidly and effectively.
  • Drive all product development, including discovery, research, road-mapping, and go-to-market.
  • Grow the acquisition, retention, and revenue our suite of products through rapid, data-driven experimentation and research.
  • Build the platform and tools to operationalize experimentation, growth, and monetization (e.g. Ad Tech).
  • Experiment with innovative mediums (e.g. voice/audio, VR, AR) and products to discover new, untapped opportunities.
  • Challenge all members of cross-functional, cross-dept team (editorial, marketing, analytics, etc.) to be Curious and Courageous, and funnel that energy into concrete products and execution plans.
  • Build a strong team and culture of growth-minded product managers, developers, and designers. Fulfills managerial roles such as assigning duties, hiring new talent, ongoing coaching employees and evaluating their performance.


Job Requirements:

  • Degree holder with 8-10 years of relevant experience
  • Sound technical background with strong user experience & visual interface experience.
  • Experience in growing products from scratch. Startup experience preferred.
  • Extremely analytical and data-driven, and able to think strategically yet quickly despite uncertain environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage product development across the teams of product designers and engineers to deliver a constantly improving customer experience.
  • Being a competitive, voracious learner resilient to failure to drive continuous improvement.
  • Have a bias towards action and impact, and a “done is better than perfect” attitude.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills as this is required to work alongside with other executives and also effectively manage employees.
  • Experience in media industry and/or tech startups preferred.
  • Work location will be at Causeway Bay Office
