Job Duties:

  • Conduct and implement R&D works on electric vehicle & related system design and modification in mechanical area
  • Design and implement mechanical feature for vehicle modification to support in-wheel motor control. Study current vehicle and provide mechanical solution to achieve proper installation and verification
  • Conduct thermal simulation & test to improve cooling design of control system like motor controller etc. with higher efficiency and reliability
  • Design, implement and optimize mechanical structure for retrofitting vehicle compliant with international standards for functional and reliability test
  • Participate in R&D projects from project solicitation, proposal preparation, program management to implementation with focus on smart EV systems, active safety systems and biofuel applications
  • Undertake R&D works including system installation, calibration onboard, system performance evaluation through bench tests and functional tests on road, etc.
  • Conduct hands-on mechanical & design work including basic drawing, parts fabrication, lab test equipment assembly, installation and adjustment
  • Lab management for the tidiness and cleanliness and support ad hoc projects and assignments when required

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree from disciplines such as Science, Engineering or equivalent with 2 years’ relevant experience
  • Proven track record in conducting R&D works and delivering hand on automotive related services experience
  • Experience in mechanical design using CAD/CAE tools and design of components an advantage
  • Good knowledge of standards and best practices of automotive industry
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with good house-keeping practices
  • Mature, self-motivated, and analytical skills to solve technical problems
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua

A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered. The successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
