Ming Wai Lau Centre for Reparative Medicine (MWLC) (https://ki.se/en/research/ming-wai-lau-centre-for-reparative-medicine) aims to contribute to the improvement of human health by conducting cutting-edge research in reparative medicine and related subjects, by creating a new platform for synergies between academia and innovation in Sweden and Hong Kong as well as China, and fostering future leaders in both academia and industry.

MWLC operates two nodes, one based at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden and the other in Hong Kong, located in Science Park, Shatin. The Hong Kong node includes four research groups with about 40 scientists, technicians and administrators.


Area of Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Administration, the Executive Officer will provide general administrative support for daily operation of MWLC. His/her focus will be on financial and procurement routines, house management, HR and secretarial duties, and event support. As part of a small but versatile administrative team, the Executive Officer is expected to multi-task and be ready to take up ad-hoc duties as required.


Qualifications, Experience and Skills

We are looking for applicants with the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • A recognized university degree with a good honor
  • Administrative experience preferably in tertiary and/or research institutions for at least two years. Candidates with less experience but proved to be of potential will also be considered.
  • High proficiency in both written and spoken English (HKDSE English Language score 4 and above, or equivalent)
  • Computer literacy including MS Office, Google applications and web meeting software
  • Hands-on experience in financial, procurement and HR routines is a merit

The Employment

This is a two-year full-time position, with the possibility of renewal.

This assignment is located at MWLC, Hong Kong, and the employment will follow local labour laws in Hong Kong.

A competitive remuneration package including 10% on top of basic salary (fully-taxable) intended as pension will be offered in addition to MPF employer’s contribution and medical benefits.
