The CUHK Business School is a leading business school and a pioneer in business education in Hong Kong. The School is looking for a high calibre and seasoned talent to take up the position of Executive Officer I / II in the Department of Management.
Reporting to the Department Chairperson, the appointee is expected to lead and supervise a team of junior staff to (a) assist in devising and implementing the Department’s policies, human and financial resources plan, including but not limited to formulating the Department’s strategic plan, coordinating teaching assignments, preparing budgets, coordinating recruitment and performance review for faculty members and administrative staff, etc.; (b) support and handle academic curriculum, teaching and learning, research and quality assurance matters regarding undergraduate, taught and research postgraduate studies at department level with multiple interfaces of faculty members, students, internal and external stakeholders; (c) oversee the day-to-day operation of the general office and provide administrative and executive support to the department and its faculty members; (d) provide secretarial services to various departmental committees; (e) organise and manage events and conferences; (f) liaise with internal and external units / parties; and (g) perform any other impromptu duties. Working at irregular hours and travelling for business purpose may be required.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo; (iii) at least 8 years’ post-qualification executive experience, preferably in tertiary institutions or public organisations, prior working experience at academic units of tertiary institutions will be advantageous; (iv) exceptional leadership and management skills; (v) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (vi) excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills; and (vii) flexibility, self-motivation, the ability to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic environment and meet tight schedules with minimal supervision. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer II. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end-gratuity commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
