Job Posting Details

The Finance Office is one of the crucial administrative departments providing best-practice financial management services to support the University’s mission in teaching, research and social-economic development of Hong Kong.

The appointee will report to and assist the Senior Finance Manager to lead and supervise the payroll operation.  He/She will contribute to the development of high-quality financial support services and adoption of best practice processes. His/Her responsibilities include: 

  1. review payroll and payment of staff-related benefits;
  2. ensure compliance to the University's policies and external regulatory requirements;
  3. set up budgeting tools for management accounting functions of the University;
  4. lead projects on process re-engineering;
  5. work on system development and enhancement to improve operational efficiency and strengthen internal control; and
  6. perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree, a professional qualification in accounting, and with substantial accounting experience, at least 5 years of which should be at a managerial level.  He/She should possess strong hands-on analytical skill, technical and management experience, with a strong track record in management accounting, business planning and project management. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, good communication skills and a detail-oriented, responsible and self-motivated mindset are required.  Experience in ERP System and analytics reporting tools will be an advantage.  Relevant working experience in payroll functions and/or large organizations is preferred. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
