Extension and Continuing Education for Life (EXCEL) is a subsidiary, self-funding arm of the Academy that offers high quality life-long learning programmes within the performing arts and utilizing performing arts techniques, promoting engagement and creativity through enhancing arts literacy and appreciation. Such provision includes both B2C courses focused on individuals as well as custom-made B2B professional training programmes, and the production of corporate events that require performing arts content.

The postholder will oversee all EXCEL operations in a period of strategic growth, reporting to the Deputy Director (Academic) / Vice Chairman of the Board of EXCEL of the Academy. The successful applicant will assume a leadership role in strategic planning and development, overseeing a team and delegating responsibility as appropriate to develop new provision across all of EXCEL’s key areas, including new developments, the maintenance of accredited programme management and administration. The scope of duties will include liaison with corporate clients, partner institutions, students, and teachers, and developing partnerships with corporate and professional bodies, as well as oversight of programme design and development, course promotion and marketing, day-to-day programme administration, and coordination.
 
Required Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree, with significant experience in corporate/academic management, and relevant experience in areas within or analogous to contemporary performing arts education. Managerial experience, including budget development, human resource oversight and strategic planning is fundamental. Preference will be given to those with a track record of programme development and experience in programme management. Candidates should have demonstrable and strong leadership and supervisory skills, the capability to manage resources effectively, strong communication and interpersonal skills; and excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese/Putonghua).

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a 2-year contract. A gratuity payment equal up to 15% of basic salary earned during the contract period will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
